Nigel is responsible for the day-to-day management of your project during the construction stage – for all delivery, installation and fit-out works. Each Health Spaces project must be completed on programme and on budget, ensuring the client’s expectations of quality are exceeded and that we are fully compliant with CDM regulations, ISO standards and other relevant accreditations. As part of his role, Nigel has regular liaison with local authorities including but not limited to planning and building regulations.

Nigel also assists with the procurement process, establishes and maintains a risk register on all projects and proactively manages the close-out of all risks on projects. By example, Nigel sets the highest possible standards of leadership in promotion of HS&E procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance with our Health Spaces procedures and legal obligations.

Nigel is an experienced senior manager who has worked in the construction industry for over 23 years, with the last 17 years in the relocatable building industry as both Project Manager and Head of Operations for projects up to £15m.

With vast project installation experience including complex installations and fit-outs, Nigel has experience with working in various construction market sectors, including healthcare, education, prisons, MOD and Network Rail and in successfully managing project teams to deliver projects on time and to budget, while always maintaining clear and excellent communication with the client.

Nigel is passionate about finding innovative solutions for time-sensitive projects, and has an ability to motivate, develop and drive cross-functional teams from all aspects of the construction industry.

2006 Operations Manager – Ward 27, Manchester Royal Infirmary – £2m
Delivery, installation and fit-out of a bespoke purpose-built Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The project involved a very tight and complex installation together with a full internal fit-out comprising of full medical gases, nurse call system, isolation rooms and a very high spec M&E / HVAC fit out.

2008 Operations Manager – Westfield Shopping Centre, Stratford – £6m
A large three storey office and welfare project at the Olympic Site for Westfield in 2008 with complex M&E and a very tight programme. The building comprised of over 200 modular bays and equated to over 2500m2 per floor.

2014 Head of Operations – Battersea Power Station Office & Welfare Building, London – £4.5m
Nigel was responsible for the delivery, installation and fit out of a five storey and six storey modular building to provide both office and welfare facilities for Tier 1 contractors during the construction phase of new apartment blocks. Works involved full on-site fit-out and the installation of passenger lifts.

2019 Head of Operations – Living Quarters – RAF Coningsby – £2.4m
Design, delivery and fit-out of modular living accommodation for the Royal Air Force and Qatar Emiri Air Force 12 Squadron at RAF Coningsby. The project comprised of 54no en-suite bedrooms together with kitchens, breakout areas and general welfare areas.

2020 Head of Operations – HS2 Tier 1 Site Accommodation – £11m
Successful delivery of 13no modular buildings to create office and welfare facilities for various Tier 1 contractors during the construction phase of the new HS2 Rail Link.

2020 Head of Operations – Covid Test Centres – £15m
Successful delivery of 37no purpose made modular Covid Test Centres throughout the country. Each individual site was a full turnkey solution and had to be up and running within four days of commencement on site.

2021 – North Middlesex University Hospital, London – £1.2m
Responsible for the successful delivery of a full turnkey project to create a bespoke 24 bed ward at North Middlesex Hospital. Works involved all groundworks, services and a purpose-built modular building comprising of medical gases, IT infrastructure, fire alarm, CCTV and nurse call systems.
