WEBINAR 18th October: REGISTER – The NHS Green Plan & Its Application in Healthcare Builds

The NHS Green Plan & Its Application in Healthcare Builds | 18th October 3pm – 4pm

On 1 July 2022, the NHS became the first health system to embed net zero into legislation, through the Health and Care Act 2022. The Delivering a Net Zero National Health Service report is now issued as statutory guidance.

As part of this, it is a requirement for NHS Trusts across England to have developed a Green Plan to detail their approaches to reducing their emissions in line with the national trajectories.

While NHS Trusts have submitted three-year strategies, these must be continually reviewed and Trusts are now getting ready to submit their mid-point reviews on progress made against the Green Plan.

In this interactive webinar, and with a specific focus on healthcare builds, we talk to sustainability experts and NHS Trusts to discuss the requirements and progress made from their recent work to unpack some of the most demanding challenges faced as well as sharing advice and expertise for Trusts continuing their journey to a greener future. The session will include a live audience Q&A.

Magali Thomson, Project Lead for Placemaking at Great Ormond Street Hospital, helping the NHS Trust to develop a Healthy Hospital Street by setting out vision to radically transform a polluted and traffic dominated urban street next to the children’s hospital.

Roberta Fuller, Head of Hospital Reconfiguration &  Alexis Carlyon, Deputy Head of Hospital Reconfiguration, Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust.

Simon Chiva, NHS Green Plan specialist helping the NHS to meet net-zero carbon targets, achieve environmental sustainability and deliver the Green Plan.

Andrew Rolf, specialist in healthcare, passive design, MMC and the reuse of existing buildings.
