Creating better environments with mental health design

A Deep Dive into Section 136 Suites

ย

Hosted live: 21st February 2024.

ย

Striking the Balance: Robust Design and Therapeutic Environments

How do we balance the need for robust and durable spaces for patients with the creation of a therapeutic healthcare environment? What measures can be taken to guarantee that the design of mental health spaces caters to the needs of both patients and staff? How can we drive continuous improvement in this area?

As custodians of both established and new mental health spaces, we have an opportunity to ensure design is right from the beginning, delivering spaces that can provide excellent standards of care and treatment of mental health, improving both the lives of those who using the services and staff working within the setting.

Section 136 Suites: meeting patient and staff needs

In this roundtable webinar, we are joined by NHS Trusts to examine the challenges encountered in existing Section 136 (S136) suites, exploring how we can design and build environments that enhance the wellbeing of both staff and patients; answering the question: how can we build better for patients and staff?

Please note: the case studies discussed in this webinar are not Health Spaces projects.
