Health Spaces shortlisted for the 2024 HSJ Partnership Awards
Setting the standard for healthcare excellence
Health Spaces is delighted to announce that the Concept Ward at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been shortlisted for Healthcare Infrastructure Project of the Year at the HSJ Partnership Awards recognising an outstanding dedication to improving healthcare and effective collaboration with the NHS.
Now in its seventh year, 228 entries have been received for this year’s Partnership Awards, with 188 projects and individuals meriting inclusion on the final shortlist. The high volume – and exceptional quality – of applications once again mirrors the impressive levels of innovation and care continually being developed across the UK’s healthcare system.
Following the thorough judging process, Health Spaces has been shortlisted, ahead of the official awards ceremony to be held next year (21 March), with its newly designed and delivered Concept Ward at James Paget Hospital standing out as a real ‘success story’ worthy of a prized place on the panel’s shortlist.
James Paget University Hospital worked in collaboration with Health Spaces to deliver a ‘Concept Ward’ – an innovative solution to a complex challenge.
The project originated from needing urgent decant space as the hospital underwent precautionary RAAC remedial work. Selected for the New Hospital Programme (NHP), the build also presented a golden opportunity for the hospital team to trial hospital 2.0 principles, research single in-patient rooms and test new technologies.
With its ‘hybrid’ mix of single en-suite rooms and two four-bedded bays, the ward will help the Trust understand the impact of the innovative ward environment on both patients and staff.
Showcasing the future of healthcare
Kelvin Moulding, Managing Director at Health Spaces: “This really is really exciting news for everyone at Health Spaces – from design through to delivery. Being shortlisted for Healthcare Infrastructure Project of the Year in the HSJ Partnership Awards 2024 shows a stamp of approval for the standard of healthcare excellence that we strive to deliver for all of our NHS partners and is recognition for all the hard work of both our teams and everyone at James Paget University Hospital.
“We are so proud to have the opportunity to share our success with colleagues from across the entire sector, as well as showcasing everything we’ve learnt through the Concept Ward’s journey.”
HSJ editor Alastair McLellan, adds; “It always gives me great pleasure to congratulate our finalists at this stage of the judging process and this year is no exception as we acknowledge Health Spaces for being shortlisted in the category of Healthcare Infrastructure Project of the Year.
“The calibre of entries left our panel of expert judges with some tough decisions to deliberate over. However, it’s always important to remember that the HSJ Partnership Awards are not just a celebration of success stories, but also a platform to shape the future collaboration within the NHS.
“We can’t wait to welcome our finalists to the awards ceremony in March and to recognise and applaud such impressive achievements across the sector.
The selected winners will be announced during the awards ceremony at Evolution London on March 21st 2024.
