A development of our modular hospital construction solutions, we support NHS Trusts and the private sector across the UK with our latest work in mental health design to create modular mental health spaces, Section 136 Suites. Available for rapid deployment to site, these mental health suites offer a place of safety, where individuals can be assessed by mental health professionals in a safe, therapeutic and appropriate setting.

By utilising dedicated mental health spaces rather than sending individuals to a noisy police cell or busy A&E department, patients are given the support and privacy at a time when they need it most. Relieving the pressure of space and urgency of treatment, our fast-track modular mental health spaces are available in less than six months.

A place of safety
The mental health suite is a place of safety, security and comfort for individuals who have been arrested by the police under the Section 136 of the Mental Health Act following concerns that they are suffering from a mental disorder. Once these individuals are in the suite, they’re assessed to establish whether they need treatment.
Our purpose-designed Modular 2 Assessment Room Suites have been developed with a multi-agency team to respond to CQC and RCP guidance. These mental health modular suites are designed for integration into existing community, acute and multi service sites and allow for maximised safety, security, privacy and dignity.

Utilising off-site volumetric MMC methods, modular buildings can arrive to site between 70% and 95% complete, depending on a Trust’s individual requirements, ensuring for minimal disruption to live operations, with installation within six months including planning (subject to existing site conditions).

Door systems for mental health
Our mental health spaces will come fitted with door systems provided by Kingsway Group, specialist door providers for mental health spaces. Doors have long been a patient and staff safety risk within a mental health facility. To counter this problem, Kingsway Group manufacture a range of complete anti-ligature door systems that improve patient safety and deliver a specific solution for every area in a mental health environment.
