Our Values

Our people

We have a strong commitment to each and everyone of our employees; we recognise our responsibility to provide a stable and safe environment, supporting all employees to grow and develop in line with the mission, values and goals of Health Spaces.

Team members work together to our core values of excellence, resourcefulness, innovation, understanding and integrity, underpinned by the core values of our parent company SHS: Hungry, Humble, Smart.

How We Work

“We are dedicated to creating exceptional patient and staff experiences. Our values guide us in achieving our mission of transforming the way patients and staff receive and deliver care in the NHS. These values define who we are, how we work, and what we stand for.”

Kelvin Moulding, Managing Director

Supporting our NHS partners

Health Spaces are proud to support our NHS partners with community initiatives – from patient-facing charitable events, to wider community projects and workshops. Last year we were delighted to sponsor and help present the Paget People’s Awards – an annual event honouring staff and volunteers that were nominated for their excellence, compassion and care over the last 12 months.

Earlier this year, the Concept Ward went on to win the HSJ Partnership Awards 2024.

Delivering exceptional patient experiences

We are dedicated to enhancing social value through our healthcare design and construction projects, and understand the positive impact that new health spaces have on the local community. By prioritising community engagement, local employment, and collaboration with local trades and subcontractors, Health Spaces go beyond traditional construction practices to create positive social impact.

We continually strive to make a positive difference to the NHS and the communities we live and work within by working with local schools and patient and staff communities in the areas we are delivering new healthcare facilities, as well as supporting NHS charitable events local to our employees and connected to the Trusts where we are working. Team members are encouraged to donate their time, skills and resources for causes they are passionate about.

We make the time to come together as a team, knowing that quality time together builds unity and strong working relationships.

Together we deliver healthcare excellence for the NHS.

Charity events

We raised over £600 for the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust Charitable Fund, alongside working with Mind, Walking with the Wounded and the children’s Rainbow Ward at Newham Hospital. Throughout the year we help to support a company-wide initiative which sees over £400 of food donated to a local food bank.

In 2023, team members took part in the ‘The Big Abseil’ raising over £1000 for Leicester Hospital’s Charity to help fund the re-development of the chemotherapy suite at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Community Engagement

We actively engage with the local community throughout our healthcare architectural and construction phases. We understand how important it is to involve the community in decision-making and support NHS consultations, open forums and public meetings to gather feedback, answer questions and incorporate community input into the strategic and design phases.

Examples of community engagement include creating residential newsletters, interactive site signage (including QR codes for NHS staff and patients wishing to find further information), leaflets for staff and viewing windows in site hoarding for children and community engagement.

By actively involving communities, we ensure the final outcomes achieved by each and every NHS Trust remain aligned with the needs and aspirations originally set out at the start of the journey.

Not-for-profit

We’re proud to sponsor the not-for-profit organisation, Architects for Health, a forum for sharing best practice, knowledge, innovation and thought leadership relating across the built environment.

“We are passionate about working in collaboration with our NHS partners and local communities. We believe in the power of partnership; we foster an inclusive environment where everyone’s contributions are recognised and valued. By working together, we achieve greater results and overcome challenges more effectively.”

Encouraging involvement

We encourage all employees (and our NHS partners) to suggest initiatives and charity events for us support. If you have an idea, get in touch!
