When a long-term vision for an estate is required, master planning provides a clear and actionable plan for achieving that vision, ensuring the proposed development is sustainable, makes the best use of existing facilities, looks at the optimum location for new buildings and meets the needs of all stakeholders. Working closely with your stakeholders – including clinical leaders estates and facilities, strategy teams and executive directors – we bring together multiple layers of healthcare expertise that will typically involve analysis of existing conditions, identifying strategic opportunities and challenges, and developing workflows to achieve the strategic development vision.
Intelligent hospital design
Intelligent hospital design is not a ‘one size fits all’ but a methodology that can help to assemble and inform future hospital design from a set of standard designs to help drive innovation, improve sustainability and facilitate rapid delivery. Over the last 12 months we have worked closely with teams from the New Hospital Programme to trial principles related to the programme, including the development of single in-patient rooms.

Digital innovation
The Concept Ward we delivered for James Paget University Hospital pilots pioneering digital technology which includes patient-centred lighting and a silent ward model. The research will inform the hospital team’s work in delivering digitally enabled hospital facilities across the wider Trust.
