Strategic expertise for long-term hospital estate infrastructure strategy
As hospital estates and design consultants, we work closely with NHS Trusts to identify and articulate key challenges within an NHS estate.
Working at Trust, system regional and national levels, with projects delivered for NHS acute hospitals and mental health NHS Trusts across the UK, we bring the expertise and experienced network required to deliver exceptional healthcare spaces.
Our workflows span the full spectrum of healthcare strategy, design and delivery disciplines – including the refurbishment of healthcare spaces and creation of brand-new hospital builds.
Drawing on years of collective experience in working with the NHS, our healthcare consultants work in partnership with you to guide the procurement and design process while addressing complex challenges in areas such as infection prevention and control, patient experience and flow, staff experience, efficiency of healthcare delivery, as well as aligning strategic plans with long-term estate strategy.

Healthcare estate & healthcare masterplanning
When a long-term vision for an estate is required, master planning provides a clear and actionable plan for achieving that vision, ensuring the proposed development is sustainable, makes the best use of existing facilities, looks at the optimum location for new buildings and meets the needs of all stakeholders. Working closely with your stakeholders – including clinical leaders estates and facilities, strategy teams and executive directors – we bring together multiple layers of healthcare expertise that will typically involve analysis of existing conditions, identifying strategic opportunities and challenges, and developing workflows to achieve the strategic development vision.
Intelligent hospital design
Intelligent hospital design is not a ‘one size fits all’ but a methodology that can help to assemble and inform future hospital design from a set of standard designs to help drive innovation, improve sustainability and facilitate rapid delivery. Over the last 12 months we have worked closely with teams from the New Hospital Programme to trial principles related to the programme, including the development of single in-patient rooms.
At the centre of intelligent hospital design is a commitment to getting it right first time through close collaboration with all stakeholders.
Digital innovation
The Concept Ward we delivered for James Paget University Hospital pilots pioneering digital technology which includes patient-centred lighting and a silent ward model. The research will inform the hospital team’s work in delivering digitally enabled hospital facilities across the wider Trust.
